The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will not rest on their laurels as they face the ACT Brumbies in Canberra, Australia, on Friday night.
After finding their winning mojo against the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific’s points table leaders Chiefs, the onus is now on the Fijians to find that ‘elusive away win’.
The Drua has not won any of their away games since last season.
Speaking to SUNsports, head coach Glen Jackson said it is a quick turnaround so it’s going to be six days this time around.
“Brumbies had a great victory against the Blues so they’ll be pretty proud of what they did,” he said.
Jackson said in their first round clash against the Brumbies in Suva, they didn’t quite do what they had wanted to do.
“It’s good to get them again really early because we can just put into practice what we’ve done in the last four games,” he said.
Looking at the 28-24 win over the Chiefs, Jackson said he knew what to expect and he prepared the team for it.
This was nothing new to Jackson since he played 60 matches for the Chiefs from 1999 to 20024.
“The good thing is that I don’t think anyone (of the players) was born when I was playing for the Chiefs, so they didn’t even know that” he said.
“We just played the top of the table team and we knew if we could beat them.
“I always mentioned to them that those bonus points were super important in this competition and to get a win plus three bonus points, now we can look forward to being on the road to Canberra and Perth.”
