Defending Extra Premier League (EPL) champions Rewa have now taken the lead on the points table. Dubbed the Delta Tigers, they beat Labasa 2-1 in their EPL clash at Nausori’s Ratu Cakobau Park yesterday.
It was a winning start for interim Rewa coach Tevita Waranivalu who had stepped in after former coach Rodicks Singh moved to Ba.
The toast of Rewa’s win was striker John Orobulu who came in as a substitute. The Solomon Islander scored the first goal in the 30th minute as they led 1-0 at halftime.
Orobulu extended Rewa’s lead to 2-0 in the second half while Labasa managed to score their lone goal in injury time to veteran striker Christopher Wasasala.
On Saturday, visitors Suva fought back from a 1-0 deficit in the first half to draw 1-1 against Ba at the Fiji FA Academy ground. Ba under Singh took the lead from a Frances Catarogo strike in the 47th minute while Suva’s equaliser was scored by Ramzan Khan.

Coach Babs Khan continues to do wonders for Navua as they scored a 2-0 win over Nadroga. Playing in front of their fans at the Uprising Sports Centre, Navua’s goals were scored by Kolinio Sivoki and Jared Rongosullia.
