DBSI, a proud sponsor of 2025 ISIA accounting awards

The spotlight will shine brighter than ever at this year’s ISIA Annual Congress, as the 2025 Inaugural ISIA Accounting Awards take centre stage on its closing night, August 22nd.

With nominations now closed and evaluations underway, anticipation is building across the professional services community in the Solomon Islands.

In a landmark show of support, the Development Bank of Solomon Islands (DBSI) has proudly stepped in as the official sponsor of this year’s awards—further solidifying its role in advancing national talent and financial leadership and recognizing ISIA in its role to regulate the registration and conduct of accountants in the Solomon Islands as required by the Solomon Islands Accountants Act 2010.

The ISIA Accounting Awards honor excellence in four key categories:

  • Lifetime Achievement in Accounting Award
  • Outstanding Service to the Accounting Profession Award
  • Emerging Accountant Award
  • President’s Award for Service to the Accounting Profession

“In line with DBSI’s vision to support national development and recognizing ISIA’s mandate to regulate and grow the accounting profession, we believe we are well-positioned to ensure that individuals who significantly contributed to the profession are rightfully acknowledged and celebrated”, said DBSI Acting CEO Mr. Stanley Havae.

He further added, “The Development Bank of Solomon Island (DBSI) is a pivotal Institution dedicated to fostering economic growth and development in the Solomon Islands. By providing essential financial services such as loans, investment opportunities, and expert financial guidance, DBSI supports local businesses and key sectors including agriculture, tourism, and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The Bank is committed to enhancing financial inclusion, ensuring that even underserved communities have access to crucial financial resources. Through its strategic initiatives, DBSI aims to stimulate sustainable development, drive innovation, and contribute to the long-term prosperity and resilience of the Solomon Islands’ economy.

For ISIA, the Accounting Awards is an initiative aimed at recognizing leaders in the field and shining the spotlight on the unsung heroes of national development, those who had contributed to shaping the landscape of the accounting and financial sector in the Solomon Islands.

According to Pamela Naesol-Alamu, CEO of ISIA: “As the regulatory body that is mandated to regulate and develop the accounting profession in the Solomon Islands, it is our duty to make sure that individuals who significantly contributed to the development of the profession gets recognized accordingly. Development does not just happen by itself – people are the driving force behind any form of development, people with the passion and heart to see change happen and to make things better than it used be. Often these people are silent achievers and are not always thrown into the spotlight.

“This is what the ISIA Awards is all about. To shine the spotlight on those who had made a significant impact on shaping the accounting and financial landscape in this country. By ensuring transparency and accuracy in financial records and holding institutions accountable, we build trust in both the public and private sectors, restoring faith in good leadership. It is not just about technical expertise but rather about how we, as professionals in the finance and accounting field, use our technical expertise to make a change in our communities, societies and country.”

Winners will be revealed at the gala event on August 22, the grand finale of the 2025 ISIA Annual Congress.
