There was no response from FICAC when this edition went to press on Friday .
The FSC confirmed in a press statement on May 8 that FICAC executed a search warrant at its premises and obtained documents as part of a preliminary investigation.

“We wish to reassure the public, our stakeholders, and our partners that the council remains committed to transparency, accountability, and integrity in all our operations.
We are fully cooperating with FICAC and will continue to assist with their inquiries.
“We are confident that all council actions have been conducted by the law and our internal policies.”
Vakalalabure acknowledged FSC’s dedicated staff, stakeholders and the public for their ongoing trust and support.
