Charity Bowls Raise k For Cancer Patient

The AAA- ACE Friends Club invited Charity Bowls event finished in fine style at the Nadi Sports and Social Club last Sunday.

Despite the humid conditions, the rain stayed away as all the 24 teams completed in the pairs event.

Long Run Fiji’s sponsored special lovo lunch energised the participants to raise $5400.

 

National bowls rep Rajinesh Raju teamed up with Hillside Rentals owner Shivan Padiyachi to take out the Cup final, edging fellow national rep Kushal Pillay and Satya Nadan.

Top contender Munesh Prasad with Nadi Sports and Social Club manager Shamal Kumar accounted for the Plate title, while former national snooker champion Soma Padiyachi and Filipe Delai easily claimed the Bowls title.

All in all, the 48 players each received a prize each to round off a very successful charity pairs tournament.

“It is either golf for me or to do charity work for many who are in need of financial support,” Singh said.

Likewise, prominent Lautoka businessman thanked the many sponsors who contributed to-wards the prizes and the passionate participants for putting a team.

Singh thanked the NSSC, the dynamic tournament controllers of Sanjeet Sen, Rajnesh Raju and David Aitcheson for the smooth running of the event.

The major recipient of the charity bowls fundraiser, Adi Litia Benau on behalf of the Bennion family thanked everyone for their contribution.
