A change in attitude in the 4R Electric Ba players helped them secure a crucial 1-0 win over Calgary Nadi in the Digicel Fiji Fact tournament at Subrail Park in Labasa on Friday.
Ba’s star forward, Etonio Dogalau, scored a wonderful goal in the 68th minute after connecting with Samuela Navoce, and cooly chested and slotted home the winning goal.
The win takes Ba to first equal in Pool A with Lautoka also on the same points and goal difference.
Krishneel thanked his players for sticking to the game plan that ensured the win today.
“We went back to the camp after the Lautoka draw and dwelt on a few things and keep out firing today,” he said.
Krishneel said they want to take Ba to its former glories when they dominated Fiji soccer.
Ba star player, Mohammed Raheem, played a stellar game as he launched goal scoring crosses into the Nadi half.
Half-time: Ba 0- 0 Nadi
Krishneel appreciated their loyal fans who travelled from Ba to Labasa for the tournament.
“Keep supporting the team and have faith in the side,” he encouraged.
When asked about their next opponents, Nadroga, in their final pool game tomorrow, Krishneel, said they would take a cautions approach.
“Nadroga is a strong side with a quality coaches there,” he said.
The no-nonsense coach applauded their goalkeeper, Misiwani Nairube, performance so far in the tournament.
Nairube has conceded only one goal in their 1-1 draw with Lautoka, on Friday.
He credited their defense for standing toll and contained Nadi’s set piece plays.
“We contained their corner and free kicks today, which is pleasing”.
Nadi coach, Rajnay Dayal, declined to comment with the green machine out of the tournament.
