The Central Guadalcanal Youth Association and the Organizing Committee of the upcoming “Communities for Sustainability: EcoTourism and Green Development Fair” are proud to announce and acknowledge an exceptional contribution from Gold Ridge Mining Limited (GRML) in support of the inaugural ‘COMMUNITIES FOR SUSTAINABLITY ,ECO-TOURISM AND DEVELOPMENT FAIR”.
At short handover ceremony was held on Thursday at the Gold Ridge headquarters , where Wanguo Gold Group (the parent company of Gold Ridge Mining Limited) board chairman , Mr. Mingqing Gao personally handed over the cheque to committee chairman Mr. Larry Viravira.
Gold Ridge Mining Limited has contributed a total of SBD $150,000.00 in sponsorship and youth-focused funding.
This includes SBD $50,000.00 as a Gold Sponsor of the Fair, and an additional SBD $100,000.00 dedicated to youth empowerment.
“This monumental support is more than a financial contribution; it is a powerful investment in the potential of our young people, the preservation of our environment, and the economic future of Central Guadalcanal,” said the Fair Organizing Committee Chairman, Mr. Larry Viravira.
The contribution will fund the development of the Fair, scheduled for 9–12 September 2025, providing a platform to showcase Central Guadalcanal’s rich culture, entrepreneurial talent, and natural environment.
The additional youth development funding will support entrepreneurship programs, skills training workshops, and cultural preservation projects, ensuring young leaders are equipped to shape their future.
“This partnership with GRML exemplifies the kind of forward-thinking investment that drives meaningful community development. We are grateful for this visionary support, which will create long-term opportunities for our people,” the Chairman added.
Meanwhile , Office Manager / Community Relations Manager Ms. Qiulah Zao said they commended the initiative taken by the Central Guadalcanal Youth and the Working Committee to organize such an important and timely event.
She said the objectives of the Fair — to educate, empower, and engage young people and communities in promoting sustainable and green development — closely align with GRML’s values and our commitment to supporting the communities where we operate.
