A car was swept out to sea and a popular campground inundated at Victoria’s Wye River on Thursday.
Footage posted to social media and received by this masthead shows a black SUV being swept into the ocean and the Big4 holiday park underwater in rapid floodwaters.

The weather bureau issued a “take shelter” severe thunderstorm warning for the South West district around the Otways, describing the storm as very dangerous.
The State Emergency Service issued a “watch and act” message, warning that intense rainfall was likely to produce life-threatening flash flooding
The bureau recorded 115 millimetres of rain at Mount Cowley in the hour to 11.15am.
Residents have been urged to park cars undercover and away from trees, and to contact family members and neighbours.
