“We are sowing the seeds to bring us together as one and obviously we’re building memories of working together in this time of the year,” he added.

Taking the Fijian Drua squad for its pre-season camp and team bonding to Kadavu will establish the foundation of the 2025 season.
This was the gist of Drua’s head of athletic performance Nacani Cawanibuka.
He said the four-day trip was one of the best investments by the Drua management which has closely knitted the squad members.
Yesterday, the team and staff painted the Namalata Central School abulutions block as part of their bonding activity after a boat race exercise on Wednesday.
The two-time Olympic trainer said it was a special time as they prepare for their fourth Super Rugby Pacific season.
“We’ve never done anything like this as Drua,” Cawanibuka said.
“I believe this is what we’d like to build in our Drua DNA, to ensure that we build layer upon layer to be better versions of ourselves and a much improved and stronger Drua into the 2025 season, God willing.
“We are sowing the seeds to bring us together as one and obviously we’re building memories of working together in this time of the year,” he added.
He indicated the beauty of teamwork will bind the players.
“The painting work is an intention to connect our boys to doing things together,” he said.
“The idea is actually to give back to the school doing something that will leave our imprint as a gift back to the school and community.
“We are trying to finish the year strong, finish together; being enthusiastic and its beautiful to come together as a community with our people here in Kadavu and the school.
“The beauty about doing painting job is that it relaxes the mind, you’re working with your hands and talking away – these are things that will form the under belly of Drua 2025.”
The Drua team and management return today.
