Arms and ammunitions that arrived from a neighbouring Pacific Island country on a vessel have been seized at Suva Harbour, multiple sources have confirmed.

There is confirmation one gun, and more than 500 rounds of ammunition were found on-board the vessel.

Fiji Navy officers were alerted to this, and they were the first to intercept the vessel and escort it to Suva harbour.

Sources also confirm the import of the arms and ammunition had proper documentation but the recipient in Fiji doesn’t have the license to possess firearms.

Our sources tell us the recipient is a member of a prominent chiefly family in Fiji.
