“There were a lot of raw young talents displayed week in, week out of the competition,” the former national sevens winger said.

We aim to win.
This is the gist of the Fiji Sports Council (FSC) Under-20 team that will tour New Zealand next month.
Speaking to SUNsports, head coach Sireli Bobo revealed the team will march into camp in January next year to prepare for the tour.
“Our preparations will begin on January 3; we will leave the country on the 29th of the same month,” he said.
Bobo was grateful to FSC for the organising the Under-20 sevens series which had five legs; it began in Navua before it moved to Sigatoka, Savusavu, Rakiraki and was concluded at Suva’s HFC Bank stadium on November 30.
“It was a good turnout.
“There were a lot of raw young talents displayed week in, week out of the competition,” the former national sevens winger said.
Bobo named his team following the conclusion of the FSC U20 series.
“The series saw teams such as Village Boys, QVSOBs, Ca’au and Dominion Brothers playing consistently throughout.
“Even big clubs were challenged for their money by unknown teams,” he added.
Bobo added the main goal was to help develop players especially from the grassroots to compete on the big stage.
“The aim of the team is to win at this tour; we also want our players to be exposed.
“We have a good side and I look forward to prepare them well for it,” Bobo said.
Bobo stressed the importance of having a robust grassroots level programme for the development of young players.
He also said the tour will also see some players experience flying in an airplane for the first time.
“This tour will be special.
“The team was not only formed for this tour but also a good platform for them to compete for an opportunity to don the white jersey,” he said.
