With just under a week of preparation, Samson Lee’s Blooms of Aloha, debuted to wide acclaim.
The event, held in collaboration with Hawaiian artists and theatre department cultural managers Marah Nui and Pewa Kawa’akaulanaonamokupuni Dela Rosa, brought together elements of Hawaiian and Fijian culture through dance, fashion, and performance art.
Speaking after the event, Samson described the experience as deeply personal and rewarding.
“This one was very Hawaiian-inspired, just because Hawaii holds a special place in my heart,” he said.
“To build a cultural exchange with Hawaii and Fiji, sharing culture and knowledge with dance and art, has been very fulfilling.”
The show featured a blend of traditional Polynesian aesthetics with contemporary interpretations, highlighting both heritage and innovation.
The event drew a distinguished group of attendees, including New Zealand High Commissioner to Fiji Charlotte Darlow, Munro Leys lawyer John Apted, as well as leading designers and artists from across the country.
