Fiji Bati Under-18 team manager Kelera Tagivakatini said they are ready to face Tonga at Churchill Park, Lautoka, on Saturday.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, she said the team has been preparing well for the clash and the players are positive in their approach.

“We have a pool of players who are willing to play their hearts out and represent the country,” she said.

“It will be a great match of sheer determination and courage.”

Tagivakatini highlighted the team has really improved since going into camp.

“We are currently on our way to Lautoka (yesterday) and I’ve seen the maturity of these players. Especially when they are being trained and coached by Fiji Bati head coach Wise Kativerata.”

Tagivakatini said the players know what to expect from their Pacific brothers.

“Tonga will be more on the physical side; we need to be smart. We know what they are capable of and we respect our opponents. We will have to stick to our gameplan and deliver the goods.”

It will be the first time for the Fiji Bati U18 side to play against Tonga at home.

“The players want to open the account with a win.”

The Bati U18 side joined the Kaviti Silktails in preparation for the game.

“We are anticipating a wonderful game and we look forward to it,” she added.

The match kicks-off at 9am.
