The lack of scoring opportunities led to the Dayal’s Sawmillers Ba football team’s early exit from the Bic Fiji FACT tournament.

This followed their, 1 – 0, and, 2 – 0, loss to Rewa and Lautoka respectively, at the HFC Bank Stadium last weekend.

Team director Yunus Khalik told SUNsports on Saturday, the men in black did not capitalise on their chances.

“We played well but unfortunately we could not score, that is the weak point, that’s why we just lost if you’ve seen the game against both teams,” he said.

“When you don’t score, you don’t win.”

Khalik said the team will look finish strong in the tournament with a win.

“We are here to play football and Ba is known for playing football so we’ll give Navua our hundred per cent,” he said.

“Ba is a very young team, we have to wait and see. We got a lot of young players coming up, we’ll pick up from here and make a winning combination again.”

Khalik said the team will shift their focus back to the Extra premier league competition.

“We will come back firing in the BOG (Battle of the Giants) tournament,” he said.

Lautoka captain Saula Waqa broke the deadlock as he scored a stunning goal in the 64th minute of second half to lead 1 – 0 agaisnt Ba.

Simione Nabenu slotted another goal for Lautoka in the 86th minute to seal the win 2 – 0.
