JOURNALISTS from the Asia-Pacific region attending a media exchange program for international journalists in China will embark on a three day ‘extraordinary journey’ to Tianjin city in North China.
The visit from June 18 to 20 is part of activities of “China Close Up”, a flagship media initiative by the China Media Group’s CGTN (China Global Television Network), bringing together its global partners in China to capture the country’s vibrant spirit.
“With cameras in hand and stories to tell, these reporters, eyewitnesses and storytellers embark on an extraordinary journey to see China, discover its rich history and modern advancements, experience its dynamic landscapes and local communities, and engage in meaningful dialogues.
“Together, we aim to create a deeper understanding of China’s opportunities and share these insights with the world,” CGTN’s Ma Ning said.
The tour will explore everything from ancient culture and traditions from martial arts, crafts and historic gems to China’s high-quality development in action at smart factories, green ports and much more.
The tour will also check out the inspiring Luban Workshops, a model for sharing skills globally, Ning added.
This will be the final provincial tour for the Asia-Pacific journos before they return to their respective countries in July.
Tianjin, the host city for this year’s Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit is where old-world charm meets cutting-edge innovation. The summit will be held this autumn. Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere, including China, spans from September to November.
