NSP Pizza is always my go-to when catching up with friends. It is relaxed, buzzing, and reliably delicious. There’s something about sharing great pizza and a few drinks that makes every dinner there feel like a small celebration.
Favourite place to take a visitor to?
Waiheke Island is unbeatable for first-time visitors. A short ferry ride and suddenly you’re surrounded by vineyards, beaches, and amazing views. It showcases the very best of Tāmaki Makaurau in a single afternoon.
Favourite spot to finish a night out?
Soul Bar is always the perfect way to end an evening. The atmosphere is lively, and there’s always a great mix of people. Whether it’s a final drink or just soaking in the Viaduct vibe, it never disappoints.
Favourite place to get coffee?
Next Gen is my regular stop – partly out of convenience, but mostly because the coffee is consistently excellent. It’s the perfect place to reset while working, and the team there always makes it feel welcoming.
Favourite fish-and-chip shop?
The Fishmonger in St Heliers is my top pick. The fish is always fresh, the chips perfectly crispy, and it is local which I am always trying to support when I can.
Favourite trail for a hike?
The Ōmanawanui Track in the Waitākere Ranges is my go-to. The ridgeline views over the Manukau Harbour are absolutely spectacular, especially on a clear day. I enjoy the challenging walk in parts and the stunning scenery.
Favourite venue for a gig?
Spark Arena is unbeatable for live music … the sound, the atmosphere, the energy of the crowd, everything comes together perfectly. Whether it’s a big international act or a local star on the rise, it is great venue for music.
Favourite place to find a bargain?
Clevedon Village Farmers’ Market is a really good option for bargain hunting, especially for produce, artisan foods, and local goods. It has a very different vibe from city markets.
