Apenisa scoops best player award

16-year-old Marist Brothers High School student Apenisa Lalabalavu scooped the best player of final in the Youth Division.

The Cuvu, Nadroga lad featured for the Southland Broncos in their 19–0 against Dominion Brothers in the final.

“I want to thank God for our lives, and we played well against a good side like Dominion Brothers,” he said.

“I’m trying both Academics and rugby at the moment as I’m still a student.”

Lalabalavu said he also played for the Marist Brothers rugby team under 16 team last year.

“This is the first time for me to play in the Coral Coast 7s and I want to thank my family for being supportive,” he said.

“I want to pursue a career as a police officer when I com-plete my high school education.”

Lalabalavu plays in the wing position and competes in the Secondary school Fiji finals in the 200m track event for Marist.
