Apia, Samoa – 24 June 2025 – ANZ has announce its successful integration with the Instant Funds Transfer (IFT) functionality of the Samoa Automated Transfer System (SATS), marking a significant milestone in the evolution of digital banking services in Samoa.
The IFT service, launched by the Central Bank of Samoa, enables real-time, 24/7 transfers of up to $1000 WST for personal and commercial bank customers. This development represents a major leap forward in the accessibility, speed, and convenience of retail payments across the country.
“ANZ is committed to supporting Samoa’s financial infrastructure transformation,” said Sucharu Tandon, Country Head, Samoa.
“The introduction of IFT means our customers can now send and receive funds in real-time, any time of the day or week. This is a game-changer for individuals, families, and small businesses who rely on fast, secure, and reliable payment services.”
The new capability is part of the broader SATS initiative launched in May 2023, aimed at modernising Samoa’s national payment system. ANZ has worked closely with the Central Bank of Samoa and industry partners to ensure a smooth and secure rollout of this new capability.
“This is more than just a technical upgrade—it’s about empowering our customers and contributing to a more inclusive and efficient financial ecosystem,” Mr Tandon added.
ANZ remains committed to innovation and collaboration in the Pacific and is a strong advocate for supporting financial inclusion and economic growth in Samoa and the wider region.
