Republic of Indonesia Envoy to SI makes final courtesy call on MFAET – Solomon Star News

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade on Friday received a farewell courtesy call from the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Solomon Islands, H.E. Andriana Supandy as he concludes his diplomatic tenure.

During the meeting the Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Hon. Peter Shanel Agovaka expressed appreciation for Ambassador Supandy’s significant contribution to strengthening bilateral relations between Solomon Islands and Indonesia since the presentation of his credentials in 2019.

The Minister acknowledged key milestones achieved during the Ambassador’s tenure, including Indonesia’s support for the Friendship Hall and the Multipurpose Futsal Stadium, the signing of the Visa Exemption Memorandum of Understanding, and ongoing cooperation in education, agriculture, aquaculture, and capacity building.

During the meeting, the Ambassador and the Minister also discussed opportunities to further cooperation in aviation, including the prospect of formalising an Air Services Agreement, as well as Solomon Islands’ interest in becoming an observer to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The Government of Solomon Islands conveys its best wishes to Ambassador Supandy in his future endeavours and extends its appreciation to the Government and people of Indonesia for their continued partnership and friendship.
