Vanuatu’s Galaxy FC have confirmed the signing of Solomon Islands international Jayson Kofela for the upcoming 2026 season.
The 24-year-old former Solomon Warriors and Honiara City defender, will not be the only Solomon Islander in Galaxy’s backline.
Former Warriors teammate Junior Aengari and goalkeeper Michael Laulae are also returning to the Vanuatu club, alongside new signing and former Waneagu United’s Clifton Sale.
“This will be my first time playing in a league outside my country, and I am so happy and proud of myself. This is a great opportunity to gain experience and grow as a footballer,” Kofela told Star Sports.
With an S-League title and OFC Champions League experience already to his name, Kofela’s inclusion will be vital for the Bartram Suri-coached Galaxy side as they prepare for their Champions League return in August 2026.
“My main goal this season is to help Galaxy achieve its objectives and continue improving my football career,” he added.
Kofela also expressed gratitude to those who supported him throughout his journey.
“I thank Almighty God for this opportunity, my coach, my family back home for their constant support, and the Galaxy management and sponsors for welcoming me. I promise to give my best for the club,” he said.
Galaxy FC has already secured a spot in the OFC Men’s Champions League in Fiji this August and has strengthened their squad further with the addition of Brazilian duo Robinson Felipe and William Medina as part of their pre-season build-up.
