WARD 4 Football Club (FC) from West Kwara’ae electorate Malaita Province has been crowned champions of the 2025 Auki Capital League, after an impressive season that culminated in Friday’s prize presentation at Aligegeo Stadium.
The team proudly lifted the league trophy on October 12, marking a proud moment for the players, management, and supporters.
Head coach Morris Akao described the victory as the result of months of hard work and preparation.
“Winning this year’s league is what we’ve been aiming for since the start of the competition,” he said.
“Like every other team, we faced challenges and setbacks along the way, but we turned them into strengths.
“This title reflects the effort and commitment of everyone involved the players, management, and supporters. It’s truly a proud moment for all of us.”
Mr Akao also acknowledged the exposure and experience the competition has given to his young players.
“This win has helped showcase our boys’ talents beyond their homes, while also allowing them to share the spirit of the game with other footballers,” he added.
The Auki Capital League Organising Committee extended its appreciation to all participating teams, managers, and players for their sportsmanship throughout the season.
“Your passion and teamwork have made this season truly memorable,” a statement read.
The committee also recognised the Malaita Football Association (MFA) Executive Members for their tireless efforts in managing the league, and thanked the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) for its continued support in developing football in Malaita and across the nation.
This year’s league was hailed as a unifying success story for football in the province.
