Among the latest kwaso (homebrew) arrests at Gwailiki village in West Kwara’ae, Malaita province, is a female with two other male suspects.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) of Malaita Province, Michael Ramosaea said, the suspects were arrested right on the spot while they were brewing kwaso.
PPC Ramoaea said they were apprehended and transported to the Auki police station for further investigation.
Superintendent Ramosaea said, during the operation, police confiscated two cooking pots with 5-liter containers filled with kwaso and a medium-sized garage bin used as storage for the cooling system.
Mr. Ramosaea acknowledged the community leaders for their ongoing support in assisting the police to curb crime in the province and commended officers for their dedication and professionalism during the operation.
“We will continue to carry out similar raids to ensure our communities are safe and free from illegal activities,” said PPC Ramosaea.
