Aminiasi Saratibau won Fiji’s second gold medal today at the International Golden Gloves hosted by Boxing Queensland.
Saratibau fought in the elite 80kg division.
The first gold was won on Wednesday by lone female Anaseini Naikanivatu.
A team of nine boxers travelled with amateur boxing national head coach Cameron Todd last Saturday to compete at the five-day tournament which concluded today.
All the nine made it to the quarters and five made it to the finals where trio Semi Koroitukana, Sakiusa Narara and Norman Amram won silver.
Todd said he was proud of his team and their achievement in Queensland.
“I’m really happy with the young boxers especially Koroi who’s in his first year of the elite and to have four fights in four days is pretty impressive.
“I’m really happy with his team.”
