New BBC Media Action Coordinator meets BHC

The Acting British High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, Ms. Emma Davis, officially welcomed the new BBC Media Action Project Coordinator, Mr. Sina Adrian, during a courtesy visit to the British High Commission (BHC) office in Honiara on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Ms. Davis highlighted several key UK-funded projects currently underway in Solomon Islands, the wider Pacific region, and globally.

These include initiatives in areas such as climate change, development, and governance.

Mr. Adrian briefed the Acting High Commissioner on BBC Media Action’s ongoing activities in the Solomon Islands.

He emphasised the organisation’s strong partnership with the Media Association of Solomon Islands (MASI), which represents a wide cross-section of mainstream media organisations and practitioners.

Over the past two years, MASI has played an important role in supporting BBC Media Action’s efforts to deliver media training and public interest programming that informs and empowers communities.”

The visit marked a positive step toward continued collaboration between BBC Media Action and the British High Commission in strengthening media development across the Solomon Islands.
