With the highly anticipated 2025 Solomon Islands Secondary School Games (SISSG) scheduled for next week, a total of 26 schools have been confirmed to participate in the event.
The much-anticipated event will run from June 29 to July 4.
The participants include 14 schools from host city Honiara, five from Malaita Province, four from Guadalcanal, and one each from Renbel, Choiseul, and Makira/Ulawa Provinces with all provincial schools expected to arrive in the capital this week ahead of the opening ceremony.
This year’s edition of the SISSG will feature five sports disciplines: Athletics, 3×3 Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Netball, and Rugby 7s.
The last edition of the games was held in 2021, with Selwyn College crowned overall champions after winning a total of 13 medals.
The 26 participating schools are: Selwyn College, St John CHS, Kilusakwalo CHS, Norman Palmer, New Place PSS, Tamlan CHS, Su’s NSS, Betivatu CHS, White River CHS, Honiara High School, Panatina CHS, Koloale CHS, King George Sixth School, Choiseul Bay PSS, Adaua Secondary, Woodford International, Chung Wah School, Waimapuru NSS, St Nicholas College, Florence Young CHS, St Joseph’s Tenaru, Tuvaruhu CHS, Bishop Epalle CHS, Aligegeo PSS, Auki CHS, and Nguvia CHS.
As the countdown begins, anticipation is high for what promises to be a vibrant showcase of young talents from across the country.
