The long-awaited construction of a new form 4 classroom block at Voza Community High School (CHS) is set to begin following the successful delivery of essential building materials to Kurua Village in North-West Choiseul recently.
Cleston Kule Ngalavole, Principal of Voza CHS, confirmed the delivery of building materials—including 200 bags of cement, 80 steel rods, and 1,000 concrete bricks—valued at SBD $38,922.00.
He revealed that the procurement was made possible through the school’s development fund and the generous support from the local community.
“These materials were delivered recently, and construction work is scheduled to commence in the first week of July 2025,” Mr. Ngalavole stated.
He explained that the construction of the new classroom block has been a long-standing priority for the school.
The recent delivery of materials marks a significant step forward in making this vision a reality.
“Establishing this new facility has always been part of our long-term development plan, and we are pleased with the steady progress we are making,” he said.
Mr. Ngalavole emphasized the importance of the new classroom, noting that it will greatly enhance learning conditions and help cater to the school’s growing student population.
“This new classroom block will provide improved learning spaces and enable us to accommodate more students.
“We are deeply grateful for the support from our community and are looking forward to the project’s completion,” he added.
He further revealed that a formal request to introduce form 4 has been submitted to the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development (MEHRD), with a site visit expected soon.
Local parents and students have expressed their enthusiasm about the development, saying it represents a major boost for education in the area.
Once completed, the new form 4 classroom block will mark a significant milestone for Voza CHS, providing students with access to improved educational infrastructure and opportunities.
