The Honiara Netball Association (HNA) last season’s runner-up in Super Division Suvania Netball Club has secured its first win of the season after dominating Green Berets on Monday at the Multipurpose outdoor court.
Suvania bounce back after their opening defeat of 41-30 in the hands of the reigning champions Sunrise netball club and dominates Green Berets with a commanding victory of 62-24 on Monday.
Suvania’s victory over Green Berets marks their first win of the season as they determined and turned their fortunes around following a challenging start to the season.
In an early statement by the Suvania team captain Gloria Hong after their first defeat to Sunrise last week she said, they are remaining optimistic about their team’s potential to bounce back and they did when they outclass the determined Green Berets on Monday.
“We gained a lot of positives from our first defeat to the champions, especially with the amount of strength they shared and taught us throughout the game that is why we give our full strength and effort in today’s games against Green Berets.”
Hong noted that despite their first victory, fitness levels is a significant area for improvement, as the team struggled during the third quarter.
Captain Hong further praised her teammates for their fighting spirit and sportsmanship throughout the match and remain optimistic with hope for their next match this coming weekend when the league progress into round 3 of competition.
“Now we will forget about today’s victory and regroup to come back stronger in our next match this coming weekend,” she said.
