A POWERFUL new drug which can turn users into a potential killer is believed to have been introduced in Solomon Islands.
The drug or substance is called ‘Power.’ Except for those using it, very little is known about the substance, where it comes from and so on.
Sources told Solomon Star last week that among its users are serving men in the law enforcement sector.
They said the drug is more potent than Copen – the drug which has been introduced to children in schools throughout Solomon Islands.
Despite efforts by police to discourage the illegal use of Copen, they have not been successful. Children take this as soluble placed under the tongue.
Power – the new drug – is said to be more potent than Copen.
One source told the Solomon Star they have witnessed the effect of ‘Power’ on its user.
“Users are more inclined to harm or kill once the drug takes effect, particularly on family members. Whoever introduced it, the target is government officials, including Police,” the sources said.
It is unclear how widespread the use of ‘Power’ is.
One user was allegedly close to killing his wife twice. Luckily the man listened to appeals by his wife and children, sources said.
This is a developing story which Solomon Star is keeping an eye on.
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has confirmed that it is not aware of any substance referred to as the “power drug.”
However, the RSIPF is appealing to the public to come forward with any information they may have regarding this drug.
