A MAN arrested for allegedly robbing the Pagoda pub at Henderson, Guadalcanal province has been released on a cash bail of $500.
Peter Foukona is facing one count of robbery.
After his arrest, Foukona was brought to the Honiara Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, where a bail application was made on his behalf.
The court granted him cash bail of $500, along with strict bail conditions.
However, Foukona was initially unable to pay the cash bail and was remanded in custody until Tuesday, when he paid the bail amount.
Prosecution alleged Foukona robbed the Pagoda pub on 11 May this year.
It is alleged that at around 4am, he went to the pub and assaulted the workers who chased him.
The defendant and others who are still at large, then returned to the pub and allegedly robbed seven bottles of hot stuff alcohol, six bottles of wine, 15 cans of canoe brown, 10 cans of canoe blue, 47 cans of SB, one sleeve green bro cigarettes, and a cash box containing $4,000.
During his record of interview with the police, Foukona admitted to taking money in the cash box and used it to pay for beers.
The defendant will return to the Honiara Magistrate’s Court again on June 3.
