Divine intervention for Tupou

Tupou intends to win a gold medal for his school next year.

Temaru Tupou of Gospel High School acknowledged divine intervention in his bronze medal win.

He threw a distance of 13.73m in the junior Biu’s shot-put event at the Fiji Secondary School Fiji Finals athletics competition.

The 15 year old Lopta, Rotuma lad was glad with his performance in his first Fiji finals.

“It feels very good and it has been a dream for me to earn a medal as I dedicated myself to training and putting God first in everything that I do,” he said.

“It’s been great participating in the Coke games and I’m soaking up the atmosphere.”

Tupou intends to win a gold medal for his school next year.

“I want to thank my coach and my dad for encouraging for me everyday,” he said.

“I’ll just go back and train hard for next year. I had doubts in winning any medals but my dad often pushes me to go forward.”
