Fiji FA’s Major Announcements

The Fiji Football Association made three major announcements on Friday. These are;

$2.3m Project

Fiji FA has signed a deal with Heritage Fiji Limited in Suva on Friday to head the Labasa Academy Ground development project.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel said the project is estimated to be around $2.3million and is funded by the FIFA Forward programme.

“This is a significant step forward for football development in the North,” he said.

“With the completion of these grounds, we aim to provide better training and playing facilities for our players.

“We thank FIFA for their continuous support through the FIFA Forward programme, which enabled us to improve our football infrastructure across the country.”

The initiative will provide better facilities for player development with the aim to enhance football infrastructure for player development. The project is to start in August.

 

Fuel Deal

Fiji FA announced that it has renewed its fuel sponsorship deal with Mobil Oil (Fiji).

Patel acknowledged Mobil Oil’s continued support towards their organisation.

“Our teams’ travel frequently and fuel is one of our biggest expenses. Mobil Oil’s support allows us to focus more on football development rather than operational costs,” he said.

“We sincerely thank them for believing in our vision.”

Petro Oceania Energy Pte Ltd (owners of Mobil Oil (Fiji) chief executive officer James Marryatt said the sponsorship would allow them to provide fuel to Fiji FA staff and coaches to reach out to communities and promote the sport from grassroots level to international teams.

“We are proud to continue our partnership with Fiji FA. Football is a sport that unites communities and we are delighted to play a part in its growth,” he said.

“By fuelling Fiji FA’s fleet, we are ensuring that players, coaches and officials can focus on the game without worrying about transportation challenges.”

 

New FACT Sponsor

Janty Kanvan Pte Limited in partnership with Fiji FA has signed a five-year sponsorship deal with Bic as the official title sponsor of the Fiji FACT tournament.

Patel said he was pleased to have Janty Kanvan Pte Ltd on board in support of football development in the country.

“This partnership will elevate the tournament to new heights,” he said.

“I sincerely thank managing director Dilen Kumar and his team for believing in our vision and coming on board as a sponsor.”

Patel said the partnership will boost the competition and contribute to the development of football in Fiji.”

Janty Kanvan Pte Ltd general manager Jigar Khatri said their organisation was proud to be involved with one of the country’s prominent football tournaments.

“This partnership reflects our commitment to supporting sports in the country and we look forward to an exciting and successful tournament in 2025 and years to come,” he said.

The Bic Fiji Fact tournament is to take place at Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium with the group matches to be played from May 30- June.

The semi-finals will be on June 7-8.
