Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula is Swire Shipping Fijian Drua’s top points scorer in the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition.
He kicked over 13 points from two convesions and three penalities in the Drua’s 28-24 win over the Chiefs.
This has brought his tally to 135 points to surpass Teti Tela’s 124.
For this season, Ravula scored 29 points and is eighth on the overall Super Rugby Pacific players’ stats table for most points scored.
However, the Moce, Lau, native doesn’t really think much about it.
The 21-year-old was proud of their win at home following three consecutive losses.
He is grateful to be part of a team of legends.
“They allowed me to lead them,” Ravula who is the nephew of ex-All Blacks star No,10 Richie Mou’nga said.
“A few times at training I yell at them, obviously being one of the youngest, they told me to shut up, but now it’s good, it’s good that they listen.”
Trust
Ravula acknowledged his parents and siblings for all he has achieved as a rugby player.
“They sacrificed a lot for me to be here. It’s just a credit to them and I’ve just happy to put our name out on the world stage.”
With his second year with the Drua, Ravula said he has understood a lot more.
He added that a good preparation during the week makes him play a more relaxed game at the weekends.
“That’s full credit to the boys and Jacko (Jackson) for putting their trust in me.”
He indicated the win against Chiefs was a bit of a relief for the Drua side who has now moved to eighth place on the table.
“Obviously, our first few games have been really being close and now to obviously get a win in front of our home fans it’s really means a lot.
“It’s very special. Everyone’s we’re happy we got our first win,” he added.
