Tara’s Supermarket in partnership with Nausori Rugby Club (NRC) has stepped in as the major sponsor of the third Nausori Rugby 10s tournament.

The tournament is set to take place at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori, on April 11 –12.

Speaking at the launch, NRC president Meli Balenaivalu said it was a privilege for their organisation to receive the 10s tournament sponsorship from the Nausori supermarket.

“We hope that we’ll be together for the future of our relationship,” he said.

Nausori Rugby 10s tournament coordinator Malakai Yamaivava also acknowledged their co-sponsors for their support towards the tournament.

“We thank our business houses in Nausori for coming on board to support the tournament,” he said.

Tara’s Supermarket managing director Amish Patel said their business has been the cornerstone for the community for over 40 years.

“We’ve been privileged to serve the people of Nausori for more than four decades and it is our social responsibility to continue supporting the community that has supported throughout those years,” he said.

“We have taken great pride in our role in serving the heart of major of three provinces which is Tailevu, Naitasiri and Rewa.”

Patel said the Nausori Rugby Club continues to provide a platform to identify and develop homegrown talents.

“This sponsorship is one of the many ways we aim to invest in the growth and development of the community along with young athletes who represent us on the global stage,” he said.

“We look forward to successful tournament in April and to many more years of collaboration with the Nausori Rugby Club.”
