The Fiji men’s rugby sevens team has set their sights on winning the Hong Kong Sevens tournament after a three-year lapse.

This was revealed by captain, Jeremaia Matana during an interview with SUNsports on Tuesday.

“The aim for every tournament remains the same and that is to win,” he said.

“Our preparation is focused on controlling the tempo of the game in difficult matches.”

“It’s been a long time since we won the Hong Kong tournament and we want to bring the trophy home,” Matana said.

“I always tell the players to take care of each other and work together before we play.”

Matana said the players have the spirit and mindset to learn from their mistakes and improve in every tournament.

“We often switch off in difficult matches, which has being our weakness. We aim to improve that in the next tournament.”
