CENTRAL Guadalcanal constituents have acknowledged their Member of Parliament, Peter Shanel Agovaka for his continued support for the constituency.
Chairman of Guadalcanal Constituency Committee, Michael Kelly made the acknowledgment during the official handover of housing project materials for three designated zones within the constituency last week.
Mr Kelly said the constituency under the leadership of five-term parliamentarian Agovaka continues to achieve transformative development in its communities.
“On behalf of the people of the Central Guadalcanal, I would like take this time to thank our MP Hon Peter Shanel Agovaka for his continuous support to the constituency.
“Hon Agovaka has been supporting our constituency since he become our MP as you noticed, many communities, clinics, schools have benefited from the support given through the Rural Constituency Development Funds.
“Some of the projects benefitted the Turarana, Rate Beleha and Betivatu Community High Schools. There was also an Area Health Centre Project, the Mamasa and Soso Borehole Projects.
“Furthermore, a total of $537, 000 dollars has been paid by the Constituency Office to the Solomon Islands National University, University of the South Pacific and secondary schools for the fees of students from the constituency,” Mr Kelly said.
The housing project materials handed over last week will benefit a total of 290 homes across the three recipient zones.
