HONIARA: Halo Oloketa! Warm Pacific greetings from Honiara, in the Happy Isles of the Solomon Islands!

The happy people of the Solomon Islands have been welcoming the contestants and their extensive entourages during the week with lively indigenous singing and dancing. It was a truly a colourful introduction to the vibrant culture of the islands.

On Sunday, we officially commenced the 36th Miss Pacific Islands Pageant 2025, with a vibrant church service at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, marking the beginning of an exciting week of the Pageant.

The programme featured the official Pageant Opening Ceremony, the drawing of the Order of Appearances and the Pre-Pageant Interview topics, and a Press Conference at the Honiara Hotel Conference Room. Following the Press Conference, the contestants headed for the Official Photo Shoot at the Coral Sea Hotel.

This esteemed event brings together eight charming beauty queens hailing from Tonga – the true South Pacific; Beautiful Samoa; the Pleasant Islands of Nauru; the Happy Isles of the Solomon Islands; the Untouched Paradise of American Samoa; Cook Islands – Love a Little Paradise; the Land of a Million Different Journeys, Papua New Guinea; and Kiribati – Timeless Micronesia.

The Miss Pacific Islands Pageant 2025 theme is “Leadership in Diversity, Leadership in Adversity” and serves as a radiant spotlight, highlighting the grace, poise, and intelligence of these young Pacific ladies, along with the beauty of their unique culture and traditions.

Due to the excitement and enthusiasm surrounding the Pageant and their contestant, Nauru made an extraordinary effort by chartering an aircraft to transport over a hundred supporters to Honiara.

This included Cabinet ministers and business representatives. Talk about flying in style!

The itinerary for the week-long programme put together by the Host Country pageant organizing committee, left no seashell unturned. Activities include meetings with government officials, tours of historical sites, interactions with local artisans, and engagement in community service endeavours.

These experiences embody the spirit of the Solomon Islands, emphasizing the nation’s dedication to cultural exchange and community involvement.

The Miss Pacific Islands Pageant, Executive Director, Toleafoa Pativaine Petaia-Tevita, exudes confidence in the host country’s readiness for this distinguished event. She eagerly anticipates a spirited pageant competition, recognising the exceptional capabilities of all contestants to vie for the coveted title.
