SportsWorld Fiji Under-20 flanker Sam Chapman is putting on the hardyards to lift his performance in the Super Rugby U20 competition in New Zealand.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, he said this is mostly with his discipline, on and off the field.

“Also, it’s about these little roles on the field especially when it plays a part in the big picture,” he said.

Chapman attended Dunstan High School in New Zealand and is eligible to represent Fiji through his maternal links to the village of Qarani in Gau.

His mum is the cousin of former Flying Fijians captain Mosese Rauluni.

“We’ve new players in the squad and if these young boys play to their best then they deserve to wear the jersey.”

Chapman is focused on his role for the Fiji U20 team but hasn’t decided on his future rugby aspirations.

“If I get back home or if I stay, it’s up to whenever the time comes. I always wanted to play for Fiji but I never really knew how to get there. When I was younger, I thought that I’d just move over and play.”
