Fiji to face Samoa in OFC U19 comp

OFC U19 Women’s Championship 2025 will take place in Tahiti, from September 21 to October 4

Fiji women’s Under-19 football team will face Samoa in their first OFC U19 Women’s Championship match this year.

The Fiji women’s Under-19 football team has been drawn in Group A alongside Samoa, Cook Islands, and the winner of the qualifying tournament at this year’s OFC U19 Women’s Championship.

The draw for the tournament was done yesterday, at the OFC Home of Football– Te Kahu o Kiwa in Auckland, New Zealand.

According to OFC Media, the holders New Zealand and hosts Tahiti have been drawn together in Group B, alongside New Caledonia and Vanuatu,

The OFC U19 Women’s Championship 2025 will take place in Tahiti, from September 21 to October 4, with the qualifying tournament being hosted by Tonga, from March 7-13.

Meanwhile, the Fiji U19 women’s football team is in camp at the Fiji FA Academy in Vatuwaqa.

Head coach Angeline Chua said the camp would focus on building cohesion, improving tactical awareness, and sharpening individual and collective skills.

“This camp provides an opportunity for players to bond, align with the coaching philosophy, and enhance their understanding of game strategies,” she told OFC Media.

“The players will undergo rigorous training sessions designed to improve their fitness levels, technical abilities, and mental preparedness.

“Additionally, team-building exercises will aim to foster a strong sense of camaraderie and unity within the squad.

“These elements are essential as the team aims to compete at the highest level and deliver strong performances this season.”
