Duo to Feature for the Last Time

Tuwai and Specman have competed against each other multiple times in the HSBC SNS series in past years and it will be the first time these two icons play together in the same team.

The Fiji McDonalds Fiji Coral coast 7s tournament could be the last time fans will watch sevens rugby iconic duo Jerry Tuwai and Rosko Specman take on the field.

Tuwai and Specman will feature for the McDonalds Mike Friday Select 7s team this weekend.

Tuwai is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and the former world rugby sevens player of the year.

He also won silver at the Paris summer Olympics in France last year.

Tuwai is the embodiment of Fiji rugby as the Legend portrays faith, humility and flair in the sevens rugby arena.

Specman known for his speed and agility in the HSBC SVNS series was a crucial member of 2017/2018 world series winning south African team.

Specman dubbed the ”Specmagic” made a smooth transition over to 15s rugby playing for the Cheetahs rugby club in the Pro 14 competition in 2017.

He also won two bronze medals at the Rio Olympics (2016) and Paris Olympics (2024).

Tuwai and Specman have competed against each other multiple times in the HSBC SNS series in past years and it will be the first time these two icons play together in the same team.

The Mike Friday select side will also include former Irish 7s captain Harry McNulty and American sevens player Matai Leuta who plays for San Diego Legion in the Major League Rugby competition.

Lasaro Bogisa, Jope Tikoilepanoni, Iliavi Masori, Iowane Teba, Rauto Vakadranu, Ilikimi Torosi, Manueli Maisamoa and Pilipo Bukayaro are the eight Fijian players who make up the rest of the squad.
