Prime Minister and chairman of the Constitutional Officers Commission has announced Rusiate Tudravu will be nominated as the new Commissioner of Police.
He will take up the job on February 3 2025.
Mr Rabuka said the decision by the Commission was unanimous and there was no conflict on interest.
He added Mr Tudravu will need to resign from the position he holds with the Tailevu Provincial Council as chairman.
He had resigned from Fiji Police in August 2021 after 39 years with the Fiji Police Force,
He was the Deputy Commissioner at the time and had acted as the Commissioner of Police over a 12-month period when then COMPOL Brig-Gen Qiliho was away on overseas studies in the United Kingdom.
