Team Pro Pack took out the Fiji Airways-sponsored Caritas Fiji Golf tournament at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club last Saturday.
The team had the services of Kishor Kumar, Inoke Bolakoro, Damien Sheridan, and Roneel Prakash who carded 56.125 points.
“I’m playing golf for the first time and great to be part of the winning team,” said Damien Sheridan.
In second spot is Team Rariben, which had Michigan’s (USA- based) Shelly Rariden, Father Sigarara, and David Qiolevu carding 56.3 points.
“We are a friend of Father Sigarara and have known him since he was in the United States. He invited us to come and play in this golf outing,” she said.
“The staff here was very welcoming, and the course was very pleasant and beautiful. Fiji met all my expectations as far as a warm cultural community; we just had a great time. We also do support charity golf back home. “
In third place was Team Mali laced with Nitulesh Mali, Avinesh Dutt, Shivneel Gounder and Abid Hussain with 56.62 points.
Caritas Fiji director Arthur Groom acknowledged their major sponsor, Fiji Airways for coming on board for their second annual golf tournament.
“All proceeds will support our charitable initiatives, helping those in need in our communities.
“A big thank you to our generous sponsors for making this event possible. Let’s make a difference together.”
Meanwhile, Caritas Fiji Est 19 operates as the social arm of the Catholic Church in Fiji. As such, it places charity at the heart of society and associates with the poor helping the church in Fiji become the prophetic voice for victims of injustices.
