Ratu Navula College means business when it comes to winning the Vodafone Deans Trophy.
This was revealed by the RNC Under-18 team manager Mitieli Qumi after their quarterfinal 16-10 win against Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School in the quarterfinal.
Speaking to SUNsports, Qumi said it was the team’s goal to reinstate the dominance of the Western teams in the national finals.
“MGM were favourites to win this year,” he said.
“We looked up to them when we came (to Suva) since they were a very good team,” he said.
The RNC players were ruthless in defence at the last few minutes of the game and kept MGM at bay.
Qumi said even though they reached the semifinal, there is still room for improvement.
“There were mistakes but we will regroup and come back a better team,” he said.
RNC faces defending Deans Trophy champions Queen Victoria School in the semifinal.
“We are here for business and we are here to play. Our biggest strength is the spiritual support from our families and the school,” Qumi said.
