Extra Supermarket Rewa football team will utilise team chemistry as their winning formula against Flick Hygiene Lautoka in the Rooster chicken/Scoops Ice cream Battle of the Giants (BOG) semi-final at HFC, Bank Stadium this Saturday at 2pm.
“Preparation has been going well as we had favourable weather to train and the team bonding has been great,” team manager Peter Singh said.
“The players had a good training session and recovery this week for the semi-finals.”
Singh said it was a positive sign that the players were fit and without injuries after their pool games.
“We should be able to score goals as long as the players are focused in the semi-final,” he said.
“We are able to manage our defense and score goals. Our Solomon import has worked well for us, I think he’s the highest goal scorer in the tournament.”
Singh said the team would gain momentum behind their fans support.
“We urge our fans to come in and cheer our team as the game will be fast paced and an entertaining semi-final,” he said.
“We respect Lautoka as they are a good team that will put up a fight.”
Singh said they are trying to balance the chemistry between the experienced and young players.
“The players are looking to get a taste of victory in the BOG tournament as it’s been sometime that we haven’t won the Fiji Fact and BOG trophy,” he said.
The second semi-final at 4.30pm is between hosts Suva and Nadi.
