Drua Partners with FSSSZ for Online Ticketing

“This is such a big investment on our part that nobody else has in Fiji, since Drua is not using it for six months it can be used to help schools rugby.”

Fijian Drua is assisting Fiji Secondary Schools Southern Zone rugby set up the online ticketing platform to increase revenue.

Southern zone president Rusiate Wadali confirmed that they would be using the platform at the finals to be held at the HFC Bank stadium on July 20.

Drua ticketing and membership manager, Biu Tadranu said,”This is based on our understanding the past two seasons as it has a way to build competition or event to another level.

“We are fortunate to bring this system down to assist the Fiji Secondary School Southern zone, we got a lot of targets.”

Tadranu said the Fijian Drua franchise utilised online ticketing from February to June (Super Rugby Pacific season).

“Drua launched all their ticket sales last year in December so basically in around six to seven months the system is not used,” he said.

“This is such a big investment on our part that nobody else has in Fiji, since Drua is not using it for six months it can be used to help schools rugby.”

Tadranu said the online ticketing platform was also utilised during the NRL pre-season match between Melbourne Storm and Newcastle Knights at Churchill Park in Lautoka on February 24 this year.

“As long as you have a smartphone and data, an individual is able to buy tickets,” he said.

“The platform can also increase one’s fan base; there will be thousands of students, family members and old-scholars since online ticketing can reach a huge audience locally and abroad.

“Fijians living overseas can send money to their families to purchase their tickets via online purchasing apps like M-PAiSA,” he said.

“People from overseas can purchase tickets for their family members in Fiji with just a press of a button.

“We are targeting the Coke Games, Deans and Fiji rugby domestic competitions.

“I’m definitely anxious about this partnership, the committee will see the difference,” he said.

“We might be talking about the commercial side of things but its important for any organisation or any sports team to have the commercial or funds to back it up.”

Tadranu said online ticketing approach warrants sport progresses.

“This is what we (Fijian Drua) do to help Fiji as a team to progress together.”

Tadranu hopes to include the online ticketing platform to other sports as well.
