Fijian Drua prop Jone Koroiduadua told SUNsports that the bond between the experienced and young players in the BLK Nadroga side was what kept them going in the Skipper Cup final.
“We want to thank God for the victory as we were unable to win the Skipper Cup for the past seven years,” he said.
“We want to thank the fans for their continuous support in our campaign especially where we lost at times.”
Koroiduadua said they were aware that Suva had big strong forwards and that was where they were going to focus their game on.
“We had to play fast paced rugby with a little flair to outplay their big strong forward pack.
“We were told not to play in our red zone as Suva can win turnover balls and score against us.”
Koroiduadua has dedicated the win to his parents.
“I also wish the very best to my Fijian Drua team-mates who are in the Flying Fijians squad for the July test matches,” he added.
