Of the 14 awards up for grabs at the annual Fijian Drua Awards Night eight awards are for the Drua men and six for the Drua women.

“We’re raising the bar and for the first time the Fijian Drua women are part of the evening, given their transfer from FRU to Counter Ruck Limited in December 2023,” Drua head of Commercial and Marketing Shane Hussein said.

“The awards night promises to be an evening filled with celebration, recognition, and inspiration,” he said.

Following are the categories up for grabs on the night:

Pepsi Rookie of the Year (Men) & TOTAL Energies Rookie of the Year (Women)

This award recognises breakout players who have starred in their first year of Super Rugby Pacific and Super Rugby Women.

ANZ Personal Development Award (Men)

The award recognises the player who has made major gains on their life after rugby plans.

Sky Pacific Commercial Champion (Men) & Commercial Champion (Women)

The award recognises the players who have led the way for the Drua in the community and among Drua’s commercial partners, recognising the critical importance of these stakeholders in a professional sports environment.

FijiCare Moment of the Year (Men) & Tonezzz Moment of the Year (Women)

The award recognises the season-defining moments for the Drua men and Drua womens teams. It can be a try, a clutch moment, a turnover or any other special play during the season. These are the only awards that are voted for on the evening by awards night attendees.

Fan Player of the Year (Men & Women)

These awards are the culmination of fan votes received after every match for the Drua Men and Drua Women. The winners of these awards are essentially the fan favourites of the year.

Times Sport Players Player of the Year (Men) & FBC Players Player of the Year (Women)

These are awarded to players who embody everything a teammate should be on the field, having earned the respect and trust of those around them.

Mogul Dausoko Award(men)

A true Drua man reflects everything the Fijian Drua is about and consistently models the club’s values of relentlessness, discipline, and integrity.

Player of the Year Award (Men) & Rooster Chicken Player of the Year Award (Women)

As the award name suggests, this is awarded to the top players from the men’s and women’s teams.

The awards night is on Tuesday, June 11 at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa.
