The Nadroga Marine Upholstery sponsored Nadroga football side was in business mode as they upset Calgary Nadi 3-1 in the opening match of the Digicel Fiji FACT tournament in Subrail Park, Labasa, yesterday.

Nadroga coach Varoon Karan said they deserved the win since they dominated possession.

He said the early goal from Taniela Rabulo set the platform for the win but Nadi equalised through Ame Votoniu for the scores to remain 1-1 at halftime.

Karan said they noticed some gaps in their defensive line in the first half but closed it up in the second half and played counter attacking football.

This worked when Rusiate Matarereqa and Semesa Sacere scored their second half goals.

Looking at their remaining group matches against 4R Electrical Ba and Flick Hygiene Lautoka, Karan said they possess the goods to upset them.

“We are not here to make up the numbers,” he said.
