“We have suspended the players (about the allegations),” he said.
Four football players are under scrutiny for allegedly testing positive to illicit drugs during the Digicel Fiji FACT tournament at Subrail Park, Labasa, over the weekend.
This was revealed to SUNsports on Sunday night by Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf.
Yusuf said the matter was of great concern and they have notified the districts the players were from.
“We have suspended the players (about the allegations),” he said.
“We are writing to them (players) about the charges and they have to appear before the Fiji FA disciplinary committee. They (players) will have to answer to the charges.”
Yusuf said they would observe confidentiality in this matter.
The analysis of this positive drug tests was for the first two days of action (Friday and Saturday).
Yusuf said the testing for the final day (Sunday) of the pool games were yet to be analysed.
