A total of 379 families in West Kwara’ae Constituency (WKC) have been supported with necessary building materials for their permanent homes.
This is aimed at improving the quality of life in the constituency.
This project support is made possible through the constituency’s housing program and is funded under the Ministry of Rural Development (MRD), development budget for the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) in 2025.
The materials and equipment are worth SBD$3.2 million and is sourced under the MRD Preferred Supplier Arrangement (PSA).
Project roll-out commenced last month, following the delivery of project goods and materials to the constituency.
In addition to the housing project, other projects being delivered include material support to farmers involved in piggery, fishery, and poultry.
Further support includes the delivery of water tanks and chainsaws to communities and families, support for churches as well as canteens to promote income-generating activities and improve livelihoods.
Earlier, the constituency also extended assistance to market vendors, persons with disabilities, and the elderly through small grants under the CDF.
“This delivery of assistance demonstrates the ongoing commitment and efforts of the WKC office under the leadership of the Member of Parliament, Honourable Alfred Tuasulia, toward promoting socio-economic improvements and ensuring that the benefits of the CDF directly reach rural communities,” the constituency office said.
“This investment reflects our dedication to the well-being and improvement of our rural communities.
The project delivery falls under the Productive and Resource Sector, Essential Services, Cross-Sectoral and Inclusivity Initiatives, and Social and Cultural Obligations; all in accordance with the CDF Act 2023.
The office also noted that delivery to communities is progressing well and according to schedule.
The MP for WKC, Honourable Tuasulia together with his Constituency Office extend their gratitude to the people and communities of West Kwara’ae for their patience, cooperation, and understanding throughout the process, especially considering the delayed project delivery due to financial challenges faced by the government last year.
The WKC office assures that this initial phase marks the beginning of a series of projects funded under the Constituency Development Program (CDP) for communities, with more initiatives expected to be implemented this year 2026.

Despite the delayed release of funds under the PSA due to financial challenges faced by the national government last year—the current implementation and delivery of project materials have so far proceeded smoothly.
The Ministry of Rural Development (MRD) also commended the WKC office, its officers, and the Constituency Development Committee (CDC) for their dedication and efforts to serve the people of WKC, despite the festive break and late release of funds.
