MORE than $17, 000 has been raised during a fundraising drive towards supporting the improvement of the Naro-Lambi Road project in Northwest Guadalcanal.

The fundraising event was held on Saturday 12th April at the SMI grounds in Honiara.

The event successfully raised approximately $17,753, thanks to the public’s generosity.

Following the success of the fundraiser the Provincial Member for Savulei, Hon. Justine Lima, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all those who have contributed towards the fundraising event.

“Without your support, this fundraising would not have been possible,” he stated in his acknowledgment at the event.

“Indeed your support brings us one step closer to improving vital infrastructure for our communities and creating better access and opportunities for all.

“This achievement would not have been possible without your belief in the vision for a better Savulei and West Guadalcanal people,” MPA Lima said.

“We look forward to your continued support as we move forward together,” he added

He specifically thanked individuals and families who played pivotal roles in the event.

Some of them included Joseph Sua and his family, Fred Tavuata and family, Hon. Willie Hohoko and family, and John Batista and family.

He also recognized other unnamed supporters who generously provided food, soft drinks, beers, and rice for card games at their own expense.

Additionally, Hon. Lima extended special thanks to the Honorable Rollen Seleso, MPA Avuavu, Hon. John Botsi (MPA Valasi), Hon. Lini, and Hon. John Stewart MPA for Duidui ward,  for their support during the initiative.

The fundraising was held due to poor condition of the road.
